日本らしい習慣の1つである「5分前ルール」。英語では次のように説明することができます。

In Japanese society, being on time is an absolute requirement.（日本の社会では、時間に正確であることが強く求められます）

The known rule is to arrive five minutes before the scheduled time.（よく言われているのは、約束の時間の5分前に到着するようにという原則です）

Being late is considered impolite and careless.（遅れることは失礼でだらしないことと考えられています）
